A Brief History of Strensall and Towthorpe Lawn Tennis Club: 2012-2023
Strensall Community and Youth Sports Association (SCYSA) is a relatively new community-based organisation set up in December 2012. It became a Registered Charity in 2013 and has since obtained the lease for the sports facility at Durlston Drive. SCYSA remains committed to providing a first class sporting environment for the villages of Strensall and Towthorpe.
The association is in the process of upgrading the Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) to a state of the art, modern, 4G surface. There are three floodlit sand-based carpet tennis courts and the football pitch has a variety of configurations according to need. The clubhouse is in the process of being upgraded to increase hire use to generate revenue for SCYSA. Continual fundraising is taking place within the village to increase the facilities available.
